This Middle East Wounds and Scar Meeting brings together the Scar Club and the International Workshop of Wound Technology and its Academy of Wound Technology, with the support of the World Union of Wound Healing Societies, for the first time.
The Scar Club has existed since 2004 and in this time, the knowledge on scars has increased incredibly. This area of largely unmet medical need has benefited immensely from greater efforts dedicated to research and development and notably, the potential success of products in clinical trials.
It seems a natural fit to pair the Scar Club with the Academy of Wound Technology which, since 2010, has run interactive international meetings and focus symposia on innovative and emerging technology and techniques in wounds and healing. Both associations have a highly respected scientific faculty who will combine on this occasion to prepare a program that addresses both the practical and clinical.
